i dont know of any 50cc motorcross bikes that are street legal.you will have to get a dual sport motorcycle if you what it street legal and i dont think thay come in any thing that small
the only thing you will be able to get in 50cc that you can ride on the road is a scooter
there are no 50cc motorcross motorcycles. anything less than 125cc is a scooter, and anything less than 250cc really (in my opinion) should not be allowed on the road, here in the states. The class of bike you are looking for is called a Dual Sport, and essentially looks like a dirt bike, but has a speedo and lights, which are required by law. The smallest one I have seen is 250cc, but I dont ride them and dont have much interest in them, so there may be more out there.
The smallest Duel Sport I could find was a 200cc, I believe it was at the Suzuki Link below. I gave you links to Suzuki, Kawasaki, and Honda’s “Duel Sport” Motorcycle Information right from the manufactures.
Their are .49cc Pure off road bikes, but really are only for kids and are quite small. Anything .49cc and smaller do not require a Motorcycle Endorsement here in Florida, but are restricted to speeds of 35MPH and slower. Truth be told, 35MPH is pushing it for a engine that small 50cc range generally make less power then a SMALL riding lawnmower.
Even a 250cc will only get you up to around 60MPH on the street, maybe a little faster if your a smaller body size. All these bikes have motors designed to accelerate fast for trail riding, but do not have the Piston size or gearing for higher speeds.
My advice, Take a Off Road motorcycle course before committing to anything, then get a good condition used duel sport with a smaller engine to learn on. Find one with a cracked plastic but with no frame damage and you should be able to pick it up cheap. After you bang it up and get used to riding, then get something at least in the 500cc range if your going to ride on and kind of 2 lane highway. I would still avoid the Interstates even with a 650cc Duel Sport, as the engine will run ragged trying to keep up at 80+ MPH.
Hope this helps.

Yamaha used to make a dual sport DT50 in 1988 to about 1992. It was road legal here in Canada, not sure if it was in the US. In no way was it a motocross bike, but it would go off road and was often used as a learner bike in safety schools. It was a bit smaller than a full size bike (about 7/8′s) and having a CRF230 now its not much different in size. There might be something like a Beta or other smaller Italian make that has/had a 50 on off road that was road legal. Yamaha still makes a few 50′s in other markets, including a nice super motard style. My bike is black and yellow, not the ugly blue in the picture link below.
