Help, Bought a Plane & need to know hot to fly it???
Hi, I just got a good deal on a plane with pontoons on it… a guy on are local lake floated it over. It has some fuel in it already & I know how to start it up but I don’t know how to make it move. I want to first circle or kinda hover it on the water 1st before I get it in the air… any tips? It is going to be nice tomorrow and want to get an early start before the campers get up and watch me.
It is a 1993 Pelican GS….. I paid 15k for it, not sure if I got a deal but it looks nice and some planes are really expensive. Do I need to where a helmet? The guy I bought from speak any American so I need your help please.
Would it be to windy to tie a rope to the back to take the kids tubing around the lake?
That won’t be a problem because the prop is in the front of the plane…. just a lil smoke.
Will it take to the air if I pull back idling?
When I take off how fast should i be going? And when I land how fast? I can’t wait to get this thing in the air and see all the ppl below at the camp looking up at me. There gonna be like WOW!!
So if i do not pull back it wont take air? I don’t want my kids to go up…. I thought if you pushed them forward the plane goes up?
Can’t believe there is no manual in this thing anywhere, I don’t even know how many miles per gallon this thing gets. Has 1/4 tank so that should be more than enough for a few hours i hope.

Cool. Just don’t pull back on the wheel or you’ll take to the air. keep the flaps down. You should be able to safely pull 2 to 3 kids around from each wing. Make sure they stay away from the prop.
cool, just keep the kids out from under the wings, when
they start flapping real hard they could hurt someone.
You need a pilot’s license to fly a plane of any kind. . . Take off speed for this aircraft is around 42 mph. It uses 92 octane pump gas.
No. . . it is not safe to take the kids skiing. anywhere you tie them on will unbalance the weight and cause the aircraft to pitch up or pull hard left. . . The wind gust from the propeller could pick up sticks or other things floating on the water and propell them at deadly speeds. . .
You want to just drive it around a lake? Any gust of wind. . . any heavy wave and you could have a terrible accident if you don’t know what you’re doing. Just the propellers alone are dangerous. . . People are killed very horribly all the time by aircraft propellers in extremely controlled conditions. . .
It is probably safe to say that it is illegal for you to be even playing with a single engine plane without a pilot’s license.
