I wouldn’t recommend a two stroke bike as you will more than likely just find racing dirt bikes. Even the enduros are 4 stroke which is much easier to learn on and more reliable in the long run IMHO.
But commuting on an enduro is alot harder on the body than a small street bike. Look at picking up a Japanese bike, not to new, around 350cc – 400cc. You’ll save a bundle on gas. They are easy to maintain and parts are readily available from both dealers as well as online ie. Ebay. Look for an older Yamaha special. Kawasaki KZ400.
Good luck.

Yeah bike change gear, but a bit different to cars.
Unlike the clutch been on your left foot, on a bike it operated by your left hand. The gear lever is on your left foot rest.
Most modern street bike use a 1 down 5 up system.
This means to go into first gear, you tread down on the gear lever, to change up you hook your boots under the lever a click the bike up a gear.
Almost every race bike these days uses the reverse patten method (just what i wrote above but backwards ! ) , and dont use the clutch to change up gears. They use a “quick shifter” that kills the bikes ignition system for a few mili seconds and engages the gear quicker the a human can. Might sound silly but a track were you make 40 gear changes, if the bike can change gear one / tenth of a second quicker then you, you will will gain valuble seconds on a track.
Hope this [ long !! ] answer helps you out.
Dude.
Motorbikes do have to switch gears if you stay in one gear for to long and stay like that that’s a bad idea=( motor bikes have a clutch on the left side with the gears in the bottom.
yes bikes have gears and they need to change gears to go faster just like a car. but they do it differently since some cars are automatic.
I think so
2 stroke would be you last selection cuz narrow power curve. you want a small 4 stroke bike which is light, and low seat height.
