Question by Dan: How difficult is it to travel around south east asia on a motorbike?
I will be traveling around vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and Malaysia etc, and I want to buy a motorbike in Vietnam for that. Would there be many technicalities to have to deal with? How difficult is it to get a vehicle across the borders? How much would a cheap bike cost me in Vietnam?

You can get bikes really cheap in Vietnam. But probably not something that you would want to go any distance on. For a grand you can get a really reliable honda or yamaha. Or you can do the Stand by… Russian Minsk for super cheap. Easy to fix, it kind of has to be because they need to be fixed all the time. But just about anywhere you can find a mechanic that knows the Minsk backward and forward.

R1 ALX – ‘crazy motorcycle tricks,stunts and crash in london’ [BIKES] {LBTV ONLINE}

I spent the day shooting these guys doing all kinds of crazy tricks and stunts on their bikes. These guys love what they do and risk their lives putting on shows across the world. Hope you enjoy.

I can’t remember the title of a movie I saw ages ago. It was about a kid who was sent to a foster home and he had a pet turtle and I think they fed it carrots. He talked to an old lady at a retirement home nearby and she like turkish delight (I think). He overhears his foster parents saying something about being sent away, and think they’re talking about him but they’re really talking about the Mum. He runs away with the old lady who he calls Grandma and they somehow go to a circus, getting a ride there on a huge car truck where they get into one of the cars on the back of it. At the circus there is a sort of school and the boy ends up doing the motorbike tricks in the metal circle. While doing a circus act, the Grandma is sent to hospital and that’s where the Foster parents find them. They sort everything out and the Grandma (who never liked her retirement home either) ends up living and the 4 all live together. Help!!! It was also based on a book (I think it had golden in the title)

STORY: It’s certainly a head-turner. Whizzing around the streets of Berlin – this is the “ErockIT”. Half-bicycle, half-motorbike, Stefan Gulas has been working on his invention for the past four years: [Stefan Gulas, ErockIT Inventor]: “It’s a motorbike and in a certain sense it’s also a bicycle, because the motorbike works as a bicycle. So you have to pedal in order to travel forwards. The pedals act as a type of accelerator. So you don’t have an accelerator on the handlebars but you have to pedal. And the quicker you pedal the faster the motor goes.” And this pedaling also charges up the bike’s battery. Gulas is convinced the ErockIT – which can travel up to 80 kilometers, or almost 50 miles an hour, is a transport revolution. [Stefan Gulas, ErockIT Inventor]: “The thing I’m most proud of is that we’ve managed to make a cool electric vehicle. There are lots of vehicles with petrol engines that are cool – you just need to go and take a look at them, Ducatis or cars like Porsches and Ferraris. They’re cool vehicles, but they all have petrol engines.” The bike may have the looks. But it seems people don’t quite know what to make of it. Say how do you get started on a Yamaha XJR bike or a Honda Super 4 if you are a beginner? What are the basic skills or requirements?

the skills for riding a motor bike are balance, the same as a bicycle.
When I first started riding it took me about one minute to get my balance.
